Introducing Auto Sign Out Mode on Roku devices

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 11:14 AM PST

Setting your house guests up for streaming and managing their login details just got much easier with a new feature called Auto Sign Out Mode.

What is Auto Sign Out Mode?

When you enable Auto Sign Out Mode on your Roku streaming device, your guests can sign in to subscription channels using their own account credentials instead of using yours. Your guests' credentials will also be automatically removed from the device on the date they specify.

With Auto Sign Out Mode, your guests won’t have access to your personal streaming channel accounts or be able use your Roku account to make purchases. Instead, your guests can safely access their own subscription channels and not have to worry about remembering to sign out before they leave.

Auto Sign Out Mode is beginning to roll out today via software update to select Roku devices in the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America. All supported devices are expected to receive the update in the coming months, beginning with Roku players and concluding with Roku TV models. To see if you have Auto Sign Out Mode, go to Settings > System, and if you've received the update, you'll see "Auto Sign Out Mode."
