1. WATCH FREE ENTERTAINMENT

There's nothing better than a movie night, especially when it doesn't break the bank. You're definitely going to want to explore The Roku Channel, a channel featuring movies, TV episodes, live news and much more – for FREE. Keep an eye out for new titles every month!

In addition to the hundreds of other free channels on the Roku platform including Crackle, Pandora, Pluto TV, and more, make sure to check out the full list of must-add new Roku channels of 2019.

Also, if you're interested in channels that require a subscription, make sure to check out the list of Roku free trials and offers.

2. USE YOUR SMARTPHONE OR TABLET AS A BACKUP ROKU REMOTE

Always misplacing the remote? The Roku mobile app for iOS and Android is your new best friend. It turns your mobile device into a control center for your Roku streaming device by acting as a remote control, enabling voice search and private listening, and providing an on-screen keyboard. The Play On Roku feature within the app makes it easy to stream your personal videos, music and photos to the TV. You can even stream movies and TV episodes from The Roku Channel on the go!

3. SAVE TIME WITH VOICE SEARCH

No need to waste time searching channels one-by-one to find that movie or TV show if you want to watch. Roku Search is a super handy feature that does all the work for you. And if you use your voice to search, you'll get there even faster!

A number of Roku streaming devices, including the Roku Ultra, Roku Streaming Stick+, and Roku Smart Soundbar come with a voice remote. If your Roku device doesn't have a voice remote, all Roku customers in the U.S. can use the Roku mobile app (learn more in tip #2 above) to conduct voice searches. Simply tap the search icon on the home screen, tap the microphone and tell us what you want – in the way you want to say it.

4. ORGANIZE YOUR HOME SCREEN

Instead of scrolling up and down your home screen to find a channel, place your go-to channels at the very top for easy access. To do this, simply highlight the channel you'd like to move, click the options button (*) and select "Move channel."

Learn how to add more channels from your Roku device or visit the Roku Channel Store on our website.
